Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino

President Manuel L. Quezon was the one who declared that August shall be the month of the Philippine language, while President Fidel V. Ramos signed the petition what President Quezon suggested or stated.
Years passed and every year, we celebrate the month of Philippine language and a theme is made for each year. This year, the theme is "Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino." This language was one of their plans to have communication among us, to have unity as well. We Pilipinos were once colonized by other countries but when we finally took freedom from them, politically, these language we have now made us to unite, and to share our instincts or even our insights to each other.
In our school, every August, we celebrate the Filipino language with competition. One of this is: quiz bee, which all about grammar and literature. Another is the Balagtasan, it's like a role play but this one, they will speak  for their right as an individual. And one of the most exciting is the speech choir.
Those were only some, we will first compete at school, and then the winner may proceed to the Division, then to Regionals, then maybe Nationals.
Imagine what our lives could be if we have no language. No understanding, no cooperation, no storng foundation. If we have misunderstandings, we might fight with each other and turn out to have a war rather than a ceasefire.
Back from the time of Rizal, form the time we were colonized by the Spaniards. He used language to solve the problem. Heroes and heroins tried their best to stand up against them. Since then, when we finally got our triumph, the Wikang Filipino was then established. Established for the next generation, to have better understanding. We shall stand as one, together we fight and face our fears and challenges in life. As long as we have each other, there wouldn't be a problem.
